I started my pottery journey at Oakland Community College in the early 2000s while I was pursuing my degree in photography. It was a lovely alternative way to get my hands dirty a couple days a week while working on creating clean, crisp images the other days.

I was drawn back to ceramics multiple times over the next decade. When my current studio home, Clawson Clay Guild (CCG), opened up, I dived headfirst into a deeper understanding of clay, techniques, glazes, and kiln management.

My current choices in creating both decorative and functional ware vary greatly by my whims. From extraordinarily bright bowls, to creepy cute trinket trays and sculpture- like planters, to babydoll/vintage mold ornaments, you’ll find I enjoy creating a bit of everything.

I strive to embrace the mad scientist when it comes to my glazing experiments to unlock color choices that are vibrant and less common in the usual pottery studio.

I know no limits on how many skills/hobbies one can take on in a lifetime. I also teach aerial arts, photography, and love to sew as well.

I thrive on being an instructor first and an artist second in all my professional endeavors. I began teaching Wheel classes in 2022 at CCG and continue to share the knowledge and wonder of pottery with many students each session!
